My first Mother’s Day has been so wonderful, I couldn’t ask for a better day! Shane let me sleep in (even though I woke up an hour before everyone else……typical me.) He wrote me the sweetest letter, booked me a massage for this week, and made us all breakfast. Pancakes are my love language. After Lucy’s morning nap we headed to church, Shane took a few pictures of us that I am obsessed with, and then we went to my mom’s for lunch. I even took a nap this afternoon! An uninterrupted nap! It was the perfect day with my little family.
The only way I can get anything done while Lucy is awake right now, is if I stick her in a laundry basket. I don’t know why, but she lights UP when I bring one upstairs. Kind of like me when I get a glimpse of turtle cheesecake. I can’t help but smile. Anywho. I put a blanket in the basket, make sure there is something soft underneath it, and the girl goes to town. She leans forward, tries to balance, and nose dives over, and over, and over again. Endless entertainment for Lucy, and time to put away laundry in peace for mom. She was being extra cute today while she was doing it, and it was cracking me the ef up. This is also the first glimpse of that itty bitty tooth popping through, and that is also extra cute. Good golly, I LOVE HER.
These are the days.

WHEW, it has been a busy week. I had a garage sale this weekend, and I spent the entire week preparing for it. My house was in shambles while I was going through the piles and piles of crap we accumulated, and there were price stickers stuck to every surface, baby, and pet. It went really well though, and I am sooooo happy that is over. Garage sales are exhausting, and I had no stinkin’ idea! While I was working hard on that, Shane was d o m i n a t i n g over at #littleoleblue. Almost the whole house is gutted, and I can’t believe how much progress he has made this week.
We had a structural engineer come over this week to give us a second opinion on whether or not we were able to take out all the walls boxing in the kitchen without a beam, and I am happy to say…no beams necessary! We will be saving thousands on that, and I couldn’t be happier. The downstairs as is was so closed off and tiny, so taking out all the walls will make it a completely open floor plan and it’s going to transform the space! I shared photos of the progress made this week down below, now that we are actually getting somewhere…woohoo!
I always dreamed of having a baby girl of my own, and I am happy to report back that it is as wonderful as I thought it would be. I love dressing her. I love pulling her hair up into a tiny little sprout. I love painting her toes. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine, she kicks my butt plenty of days; but she is my sweet little angel girl and I cannot thank God enough for bringing her to us.READ MORE »
It has been a hot minute since I’ve shared the links I’m loving lately, so let’s do this.
1- I’m a liiiiittle embarrassed by how many times I have watched this video of Ludacris rapping the children’s book Llama Llama. Could this be the new genre of kids music? I wouldn’t be mad.
2- I started using Amazon Music this month and it is AWESOME. You can get a 30-day free trial right here, and it sucked me right in. I had been using Spotify Premium before Amazon Music, and it is probably 100,000x’s better. Yes, 100,000 times.
3- I made this Creamy Avocado & Spinach Pasta yesterday, and Lucy went HAM on it (see photo below.) I didn’t add the pecans or basil because I didn’t have any on hand, but it was tasty and I give it two thumbs up. Lucy devoured two tray fulls (because that is an accurate unit of measurement once you have kids) last night, and the leftovers today. Girl can eat.
4- Pinterest has been my obsession lately, and I am having so much fun pinning home ideas, birthday party ideas for Lucy, and quotes that make me want to run a marathon. Obviously not going to do that….ever…. but you can follow me here and maybe you can gain a little more motivation too;)
That’s all I’ve got. Happy almost Friday, be sure to whoop it up! XO.
Somehow Lucy is nine months old (madness!) and she has really settled in and found her favorite toys to play with. We have SO many toys, but at the end of the day she is content playing with these same things over and ooooovvverrrr again. I linked Lucy’s favorite baby toys below for you to check out! Oh, and one thing I didn’t link that is Lucy’s favorite toy of them all- our TV remote. I need to get something done? Hand her the remote. Toy remotes do not count, they CAN tell the difference.
We are slowly but surely making progress on our house, and by we….I mean mostly Shane. He’s been going over almost every night after work to get the drywall and plaster out of the entire house. He is a workhorse, and I love it. Now that I am seeing progress being made, I am in the early stages of going room by room and deciding on fixtures and the style we are going for. First stop- master bath! I thought I would share a few pictures of the current state of our master bathroom to jog your memory, along with some inspiration that I am loving right now!
This space is a good size, and it does really have potential. It just needs some serious redesign and TLC. The space it does have, is not utilized at all….So we are going to work on changing that! I have been pinning inspiration like crazy (follow me here), and I know that I want it to me light + bright with maybe a splash of color? Or wood? Or neither? For now, here is some inspiration to get me started….but there is one thing I do know: Apparently I like round mirrors;)

Easter has always been one of my favorite days, and celebrating it with our own little bunny this year is extra sweet. We had a full weekend with family in town, we started demo inside #littleoleblue, and even had our first fire of the season with Shane’s parents. It was one long, but wonderful weekend. I will share a home update later this week, but for now- here are the few pictures I have from our weekend! I have managed to fill up every single memory card I own with photos, and God forbid I ever delete anything (#hoarder), so until my new card comes in the mail….iPhone it is! I hope you had the most blessed Easter weekend, thank you for following along. XO. READ MORE »
In college, I lived in a tanning bed. Seriously, I liiiived for a good tan. A few years ago though, I realized not only that I was developing wrinkles (are you kidding me?!), but that it was a seriously dangerous habit to have. I was spending $50 dollars on a tanning membership every month and I was OVER IT. I quit cold turkey, and promised myself that I would start taking better care of my skin. That is when I started using sunless tanner, and I haven’t gone back since!
I’ve tried almost every sunless tanning product under the sun, and I have definitely nailed down a favorite. My tried and true, ride or die product is the Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse. Depending on the time of year, I go back and forth between dark and ultra dark, but ohhhh man I LOVE THIS STUFF. It is the perfect olive color, and it looks so natural every single time I use it. I have people emailing me questions about my tan almost every week, so I figured I would share all of the details, and explain how to give yourself the best sunless tan (and make it last!)
Well, we bought a fixer upper! ….& it’s right next door to my parents! I never thought either of those things would come out of my mouth, but we have quickly learned to never say never;) In the week since we closed, it has already been such a blessing being next to my parents. They have helped so much with yard work (we come over everyday and more is done), my dad comes over to answer any questions about the house, and Lucy has a built in babysitter….It’s the BEST.
