Today my mom and sister walked into the same restaurant that my friend and I were at for lunch, and they handed me a bag full of clothes they happened to buy right before! There is nothing like little teeny, tiny baby clothes to really make your day. My mom has been seriously spoiling our baby girl, and I am not complaining! In the past two weeks, she has given us probably 15 outfits! I can only imagine how many we will have by the time she actually gets here;) READ MORE »
Happy Sunday! It’s a cold one out there…I mean, really cold. So cold that I refuse to leave my bed for the rest of the day! You can hold me to that;) My mother in-law was here all weekend being so sweet and cooking us a bunch of meals to freeze, so I am as content as can be right now. Homemade potato soup and a Netflix documentary? Yes, please.
If you’re wondering what I’ve been checking out on the internet lately, look no further! Here are a few links I’m loving currently:
– You can’t keep me off the Land of Nod Website. I think some seeeerious baby shopping will be happening on there. I mean just look at this bassinet!!!!! My mama heart can’t handle it.
– If you watched Making a Murderer, you NEED to read this. I was in tears while reading it…and I lost it when he started talking about Dolores and Allen. Enjoy.
– Winter is not my thing. My skin reeeeeally doesn’t like it. I didn’t think it was actually possible, but somehow my skin has managed to become even more dry since I’ve been pregnant! I’ve been slathering this belly butter all over my body and I’m loving it! Who says it just has to be for your belly;)
– I have been a pinning machine lately *cough cough* (follow me here)
– Adele’s carpool karaoke made me love her even more. But I mean, rapping my favorite Nicki Minaj verse? Come on.
Have a good week! XO
First off, thank you SO much for all the congratulations and well wishes about our news! Even though I am SO excited, I had a rouuuughhh week of morning (all freakin’ day) sickness. My doctor told me that the nausea would improve around 12 weeks, but yeah….That just didn’t happen. I’m actually pretty positive it has gotten WORSE. I’m still chuggin’ along though, because I just know it’s going to be so, so, soooo worth it. On top of dealing with lots of morning sickness, my grandpa passed away last week and we had his visitation/funeral over the weekend. I think I handled it all surprisingly well, considering I cry watching dog food commercials. Though sad and not the most ideal circumstances, it was so nice to have our entire family together for a couple days. We spent the time looking at pictures of us all and laughing at our ridiculous hairstyles over the years (so many crooked bowl cuts, so little time). Just how he would have liked it:)
That’s basically all that happened since my last post! Thankfully I managed to do a little blog planning while I’ve been sick, so there is going to be a lot more posts and organization coming! You just can’t get rid of me;) Also, I am getting so ANTSY to find out if this little bean is a boy or girl! I haven’t bought one thing, but oh my goodness have I been looking. Baby Gap is my weakness. I linked some of my favorite things down below! We find out the gender in 4 weeks, and I can promise you I will need to be restrained when it comes to buying baby clothes. THEY ARE SO CUTE AND LITTLE.
Happy almost New Year! Did I SERIOUSLY just go a month without blogging? Yes, yes I did. Instead of making excuses (because I’m sure no one cares), I’m just going to promise that it will never happen again! Seriously, never.
December was a crazy month, and I slacked hardcore when it came to Christmas. I didn’t put up a Christmas tree, didn’t buy any presents until December 21st, and I never even wore any Christmas pajamas. ARE YOU KIDDING ME MARYSSA? It was an off year. I’ll make up for it next holiday season;) With that being said though, we had an amazing Christmas. There is nothing better than getting to spend time with your favorite people ever. We even got an extra day with Shane’s family thanks to all the crazy winter weather that happened in Illinois over the weekend! Shane and I also decided to become obsessed with Making a Murderer on Netflix….OMG I will save my thoughts for another post. But if you haven’t watched, WATCH IT NOW. It took over my holiday weekend. Good times.
My blog is going to be my big project in the new year. Well, one of my big projects. Big things are happening with the Albert family, and I am so anxious to share everything! Here’s to 2016!
What a weekend! Saturday we had a long, full day of volleyball at our regional tournament. It turned out to be a pretty awesome day though, because next week we are heading back to Nationals in Phoenix, Arizona! Coaching is a big commitment with a bunch of late nights and unfinished business at home, but winning a trip to nationals makes it 100% worth it. Oh, & it’s 33 degrees outside as I type this….So needless to say I am excited to get to some warmer weather;) I spent most of the day Sunday cleaning and doing a crap-ton of laundry (also known as a shit-ton, but I’m trying to class it up a little bit). Really nothing too exciting came out of Sunday….But I mean, I did buy a new 360 Swiffer duster….Doing it up big.
And now it’s time for my not Friday Favorites:
1) Green tea is always a favorite of mine but I have been on a green tea BINGE the last two weeks. Any and all kinds….I’ll drink it. I love coffee but my stomach haaaates it. So tea is the next best thing. I’ve been drinking out of this mug from Anthropologie because it’s huge and it can hold maximum amounts of liquid. However, I hate the handle. Is that for my pinky or a fairies wrist? We may never know.
2) It’s a 10 Leave in Conditioner. I’ve used this spray on and off for years, but I just recently purchased it again and IT IS SO GOOD. It makes my hair so soft and smooth. Disclaimer: Don’t spray in your bathroom with your head facing downwards. It will make your floor slippery and you will fall. Personal experience.
3) This last one isn’t technically a favorite because I haven’t actually made it…But I am so excited to try this Stuffed Bell Pepper Recipe! Every recipe I have made from Damn Delicious has been amazing, so I’m sure this one won’t be any different;)
That’s all I’ve got! I hope you all are having an awesome start to your week, I have new posts to share all week…..& just a friendly reminder, if you subscribe, you won’t miss a post!
Yesterday we celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! Sooo not an anniversary at all, but I will use any excuse to celebrate;) I realized that I never shared the video I made from our wedding day, so now 6 months later I am finally getting around to it! Don’t get your hopes up too high, this is just little random clips I recorded during the day and it’s nothing professional….But I love it just the same 🙂 I can’t wait to show our kids the video of our wedding day, full of taking shots and kissing basically the whole time. What a day.
October is here! I don’t know if you know this about me, but……October is my favorite, favorite of all the months. Last night while laying in bed, I came up with the idea to do a “monthly fun list” with 5 things I wanted to accomplish every month! You could call it a bucket list, but I don’t think these lists are going to be cool enough to be considered a bucket list. Speaking of, my ultimate list will be posted soon…& it’s pretty intense. I am shooting for the moon. DREAM BIG PEOPLE. Back to this post: This may not be super fun and exciting to some people, but it is to me, so this is what I came up with.
1- Go to an apple orchard and pick apples. I know, so basic….But I have never gone to an apple orchard to physically pick the apples & I am ready to put some work in here. Shane is begging me to make apple crisp, so according to him, this one is definite must.
2- Take a drive somewhere new and have a picnic. Checking out the changing leaves is one of my favorite things ever….Also food.
3- Learn to like football. Everyone FREAKS about football season and I have never been interested. I don’t really understand it, and I find it a liiiiittle aggressive, but I am determined to enjoy it more. We only have one TV with cable, so I would love to be able to spend time with my husband instead of closing myself off into my bedroom to watch Netflix on Sunday nights. Not totally sure how I am going to accomplish this one, but I’m really going to make the effort. Hopefully. Check back.
4- Go Thrifting. This is self-explanatory. I just really love old random shit.
5- Have a scary movie marathon. Anything based on a true story or really, really cheesy…Sign me up. If I can find a day off from any of my other responsibilities, this will definitely happen.
So there we have it. My very first fun list. WHAT a whirlwind. There is just nothing like October. Cool air, pumpkin everything, FESTIVE CANDLES. It’s the best. What is your favorite thing about fall? I would love to know! & now the mug that describes my feelings towards fall:
Usually I like to do my weekend recaps on Sunday evenings, but I somehow managed to fall asleep on the couch at 7:45 with my shoes on…..So that didn’t work out. But we had SUCH a fun and full weekend! Shane’s mom came to visit for the weekend and since I had a weekend off from volleyball, we decided to head out on a day trip!

Happy Tuesday! Life has been crazy busy the past few weeks, and I somehow managed to not click publish on my last blog post that is now completely irrelevant….Rookie move. So here I am with a new blogpost for the first time in a week!
I am in the process of completely purging my closet and it has been HARD. I have an entire room for a closet and it is a legitimate disaster zone….It has got to go. I’ve been working for the past two weeks getting rid of things, organizing, and laughing at the decisions I’ve made, & I am still. not. done. Does anyone else have the most difficult time getting rid of t-shirts? I own hundreds of t-shirts (not exaggerating) and I am seriously having the WORST time giving them the boot. I have a solid 20 that I love to wear and yet I keep drawers and drawers of them around because I “may need them for something”. Pretty sure I won’t be needing my stained and ripped softball shirt from 3rd grade anytime soon.
So far I have filled 5 bags of clothes to be donated, and I am pretty sure 3 bags are full of crop tops. Why did I wear so many crop tops? So. Much. Regret. I also have a ridiculous amount of PJ pants, I actually got rid of my fuzzy tweety bird pants from my 8th birthday, and that is a seriously monumental step in the right direction. If anyone would like to come over and shop my closet for mediocre things you are more than welcome, I have endless amounts of festive socks and volleyball spandex that I will definitely never be squeezing into EVER again…Come and get em’
I will update you later with photos once I am actually finished, but the before is so terrible that I refuse to show that until I have a respectable after. Maybe this will be my motivation to keep it clean and organized. Maybe. We all have flaws 😉
8 hours, 5 pit stops, and 3 bags of gummy bears later…We are home from our weekend in Kentucky! It was a short and sweet trip to watch one of Shane’s friends from high school marry his beautiful new wife! Every time I go to a wedding I just wish I could throw my dress on and do it all over again:) It all goes by so fast, we have already been married for almost 5 months! Holy. Crap. Time is crazy.READ MORE »
