I am so excited to finally be sharing a walk through tour of our fixer upper! I have been wanting to get a video up for a while so we would have something to look back on, and I am so glad I did! If you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel, be sure to subscribe right here because I will be posting even more videos as we continue to make progress on this crazy house. Thank you for following along and supporting my blog, I appreciate it SO much. XO.
This post is sponsored by Tarkett NA; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
When we bought our fixer upper back in March, it was hard to see the potential in this rundown hodgepodge of a house. The work was (and still is) completely overwhelming, but we knew there was a whole lot of life left in it, and it just needed some serious elbow grease. Unreal amounts of elbow grease. We still have PLENTY of work to do over here, but Lucy’s new bedroom is coming together, and the rest of the upstairs received a much needed makeover.
It’s been a hot minute, but I am coming at you with a September House Update! I am happy to report that we are seeing REAL progress…progress that makes me excited and gives me hope that someday we will actually live here! Someday. Since my last update at the end of May (read that here), I shared that Shane decided to do an addition, and now boom…..we have an addition. Shane and my dad had it completely built, from blocks to studs, to walls in just a few weeks. It was crazy!

I hope you all had a wonderful kickoff to summer this weekend, I know we did! I lost track of my phone for most of the weekend and we just had fun! The way it should be;) Now that our weekend off is over though, it’s back to the grind on the house! There are some new changes happening, so I figured it was time for another house update.
Big things are happening over at our house, and all of the walls will be out of the downstairs by the end of this week! My open concept dreams are coming true, and I am so anxious to see it come to life. We need to have a layout mapped out downstairs for the plumber and electrician, so I have been a pinning fool trying to figure out what is going to go down in our kitchen. Down below I shared some kitchen remodel inspiration, and I really wish I could have them all. Can I have three kitchens????
WHEW, it has been a busy week. I had a garage sale this weekend, and I spent the entire week preparing for it. My house was in shambles while I was going through the piles and piles of crap we accumulated, and there were price stickers stuck to every surface, baby, and pet. It went really well though, and I am sooooo happy that is over. Garage sales are exhausting, and I had no stinkin’ idea! While I was working hard on that, Shane was d o m i n a t i n g over at #littleoleblue. Almost the whole house is gutted, and I can’t believe how much progress he has made this week.
We had a structural engineer come over this week to give us a second opinion on whether or not we were able to take out all the walls boxing in the kitchen without a beam, and I am happy to say…no beams necessary! We will be saving thousands on that, and I couldn’t be happier. The downstairs as is was so closed off and tiny, so taking out all the walls will make it a completely open floor plan and it’s going to transform the space! I shared photos of the progress made this week down below, now that we are actually getting somewhere…woohoo!
We are slowly but surely making progress on our house, and by we….I mean mostly Shane. He’s been going over almost every night after work to get the drywall and plaster out of the entire house. He is a workhorse, and I love it. Now that I am seeing progress being made, I am in the early stages of going room by room and deciding on fixtures and the style we are going for. First stop- master bath! I thought I would share a few pictures of the current state of our master bathroom to jog your memory, along with some inspiration that I am loving right now!
This space is a good size, and it does really have potential. It just needs some serious redesign and TLC. The space it does have, is not utilized at all….So we are going to work on changing that! I have been pinning inspiration like crazy (follow me here), and I know that I want it to me light + bright with maybe a splash of color? Or wood? Or neither? For now, here is some inspiration to get me started….but there is one thing I do know: Apparently I like round mirrors;)

Well, we bought a fixer upper! ….& it’s right next door to my parents! I never thought either of those things would come out of my mouth, but we have quickly learned to never say never;) In the week since we closed, it has already been such a blessing being next to my parents. They have helped so much with yard work (we come over everyday and more is done), my dad comes over to answer any questions about the house, and Lucy has a built in babysitter….It’s the BEST. I have had so much fun putting together Lucy’s nursery, I’m actually a little sad that I’m done! She doesn’t actually sleep in her room yet, but I hope once she does she loves it as much as I do. This room started out covered in old Packer’s wallpaper, and it. was. terrible. I knew that I wanted it to be neutral with little pops of color, but it turned out completely different than I originally planned…and I love it! Can I move in?;)
