So I don’t know if you noticed, but I have been pretty quiet around the blog this month. I’ve been enjoying summertime and hanging out with my baby. That’s on me. Instead of making excuses, I am just going to share some random things that have happened in the last couple weeks! Here we go.
-We took Lucy swimming for the first time. She wasn’t sure what to think at first, but by the end of the day she was splashing around and loving every second. AND she fell asleep in the pool both times we took her! She never falls asleep anywhere, so we were freaking out about it. Beyond cute. Fa real. I hope she always loves the water, because swimming is one of my favorite things!
-I quit breastfeeding. Quit seems way too harsh. More like I gave it everything I freaking had for 10.5 months and my body had nothing left. It was a difficult thing for me to deal with, but I am feeling much better about it now. I shared more of my thoughts on it over on my instagram. Check out that post here.
-Lucy went to her first carnival, and tried her first ever lemon shakeup. She also went on the carousel for the first time with her daddy and sat on the horse for oh, maybe five seconds? Not. A. Fan. That same night she saw fireworks for the first time and she was obsessed. Watching her experience all of these firsts are pure heaven to me, I can’t get enough.
-We celebrated Shane’s first Father’s Day with my favorite baby daddy. He is the best dad to Lucy, and such a wonderful husband to me. I wish I could give him the world, because he deserves it. He loves us SO HARD and would do anything to make us happy. We hit the jackpot.
-Speaking of that wonderful husband. He took me to the Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill concert on Saturday, and it was the BEST TIME. Again, shared a little more on my instagram (check out that post here), but basically seeing Tim & Faith in concert together has been on my bucket list since the beginning of time, and Shane surprised me with 8th row tickets for our anniversary in April. We had so much fun together, and it was soooo nice to take time for just us two. The last song they sang was “I Need You” which just so happens to be the first dance song from our wedding. That song….is just us. We danced. We sang. We smooched. It was the perfect night. Can we get a repeat?!
So there you have it. That’s a few highlights of our June so far. It’s been a fun and busy month, and I really have been just taking the time to enjoy Lucy’s first summer and be present. She’s 11 months old as of yesterday, and I really can’t believe we will have a one year old on our hands next month. She’s growing like a weed and I am OBSESSED with this season of life. We are still chugging along on the house, and I can’t wait to share more on that soon. Thank you for following along, and I promise I won’t do this to you again;)
