We were spoiled with amazing weather last weekend, but this week we haven’t been so lucky. It’s been a chilly and rainy mess in our neck of the woods, so Lucy and I have been spending our days at the house working on her walking skills and snuggling the day away. I never would have dreamed that I would be content cooped up in the house, but Lucy has completely flipped upside down everything I thought that I knew. These last ten months of being a mama have been no question, the best of my life. This baby changed everything, and I have zero complaints. Okay, well maybe I have complained a little about the sleep deprivation, but she has been *knock on wood* sleeping through the night, so I just decided to block it out of my mind;)
One of Lucy’s favorite things to do right now, is to say “ooohhhh” and we are OBSESSED with it. She knows we love it, so she will say “ooohhhh” and then bust out laughing every single time, and we can’t get enough. Her personality is so stinking fun, and somehow she gets more and more entertaining everyday! It’s so funny how her babbling nonsense and funny little noises have turned into our everyday conversation, and we definitely wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes long after Lucy has gone to bed, Shane and I catch each other making random little sounds she makes, and then we’re all like wait…..we’re grownups…..why are we talking baby talk still??? That’s just our life these days.
Milestones are quite possibly my favorite thing about being a mom. Watching Lucy learn new things everyday and seeing her grow into a tiny little person has been so unbelievably wonderful. Between waving, crawling, blowing kisses, feeding herself, taking steps, babbling, and so much more….my heart can hardly take it. She’s grown from my teeny tiny girl swimming in her newborn bodysuits, to my (almost) walking and talking ten month old still sliiiightly swimming in her nine month bodysuits. Time flies, and Carter’s has been with us through every single growth spurt and milestone.
It’s no secret, I am addicted to buying baby girl clothes. Dressing Lucy every morning has always been one of my favorite parts of our daily routine. The Little Baby Basics Collection from Carter’s is perfect for those first moments, early mornings, or lazy days at home. I could not have made it through the first weeks at home with Lucy without Carter’s basics. Newborns go through an UNREAL amount of laundry early on, and Lucy lived in comfy bodysuits and footed pajamas. Seriously, it is un-real. I always give a big pack of bodysuits like these as baby shower gifts, because really, you can never have enough. I remember before Lucy was born, I looked at all of her clothes and thought, “there is NO way I will ever need this much.” Ha ha ha. False. You will use them. I promise.
Carter’s baby clothes aren’t just cute and durable, they are also so affordable. I’m not trying to break the bank to dress my baby who loves to accessorize with red pasta sauce and milk. Right now you can save 20% off your purchase of $40 or more using this coupon I shared below. Click here to find a Carter’s Store near you and get to shopping!
Being a stay at home mom has it’s own set of challenges and difficulties, it is by no means a walk in the park everyday. But I look at that sweet face full of joy and a whole lot of mischief, and I know it’s all worth it.
