At 2:30 am on Thursday, I woke up to nurse Lucy, packed up my suitcase and ran out the door. I left my baby for the first time, and headed to Florida with two of my best friends. Want to know how I know we had a successful vacation? I have three pictures from the trip, and NONE with my friends. You may be thinking that I went alone, but actually we were just too busy floating in the pool and ocean 90% of the time….therefore no pictures were taken. Amateurs.
We rented a house through Airbnb, and it was worth every penny! It was so nice to have a full kitchen and our own pool to hang out by whenever we wanted (which was basically 24/7). One thing I can tell you about this trip: I can NOT hang like I used too. Between the wine, daiquiris, the two bags of chips I devoured on my own, and sun, I was tapped out by 9 pm every single night. How do these college kids do this until 5 am every night?! You are all crazy. Every last one of you.

Honestly, we didn’t do a lot on this trip, and it was just what I needed. It was so nice to get away for a few days and relax with my friends. I missed my baby SO SO SO much, but she was in good hands with her daddy and grandma’s, and I knew she was living it up while I was gone;) A good girls trip is good for the soul, and we loved Fort Lauderdale! The traffic was a nightmare, but the beach was amazing. Next time we head to Laudy though, I think we will be hopping on a cruise. Sign. Me. Up.
The weather was perfect everyday, and somehow it made me even more excited for summertime! I’m back with my baby now, and I am happy as can be. I am not happy about all the snow we came home too, but I missed my little family so much….So I don’t even care! We need to get our Lucy girl to a beach STAT, I know she would love it so much. Is there anything better than the beach? No? No.
