Lucy started crawling at the very beginning of this month, and it went zero to 100 REAL quick. On the day of her baptism, she managed to crawl herself forward a tiny bit (just enough to impress the crowd #obviously). The next day though, she was full-fledged crawling! It was madness! We are so excited for her, but man oh man she is so fast. She crawled off the couch on my watch this week, and I still have mom guilt about it. The first of many spills I’m sure. Live and learn. Having a mobile baby is a whole different ball game of parenthood, I don’t even know what I’ll do when she starts running. Ahhhh. I don’t even want to think about that.
Her sleeping has improved so much this month, and we could not be happier about it! She has slept through the night a few times, but usually she still wakes up one time to eat, and that is fine by me! She sleeps around twelve hours, and takes two 1-2 hour naps during the day. Home girl loves to snoooooze. Lucy’s hair has grown in so much recently, and I’m counting down the days until her first pony tail. She still has no teeth in sight, but slobbers and chews on everything. Maybe someday she’ll grow some chompers.
We are still breastfeeding, but we did have to supplement once a day while I was on vacation. I was having the hardest time coming to terms with it, and I felt like I was letting her down (which is just crazy talk!) She took it just fine, but now that I am home she is back to enjoying her milk straight from the tap;) Some days she loves to eat solids, other days she isn’t nearly as interested. I can tell she is becoming more and more interested in the food we are eating, and she is always grabbing our plates and begging us to share.
This month has been hands down, my favorite month. She is developing her own little personality, and now she’s putting her arms out for us to pick her up…I love it! She has the sweetest soul, but she is always sticking her tongue out at everyone and accidentally flipping us all the bird. That right there, is how I know she’s my daughter.
To chase the dog and cat
Pulling as much fur off the cat as humanly possible
Following me into the bathroom
Avocado and Banana
LEMONS (she is obsessed, it’s the weirdest thing!)
Blocks of all shapes and sizes
Shoving her hand into your mouth
She does not love:
Getting her face wiped off after she eats
When we eat and she doesn’t get any
When we eat and do give her some but it’s not what she wants
Only four more months until I have a one year old. Say WHAAAT?
