Kindness is Free
Photo via Pinterest
I have seen so much negativity on social media recently, and it compelled me to share one of my favorite quotes! “People often forget that kindness is free.” At the beginning of this year, I decided to make a goal to go above and beyond and be kind to everyone that I meet. Lucy is getting older; she is going to see our actions, and hear our words….I want her to know words of affirmation and love, not of negativity and hate. Our goal is to raise our children to be kind and courteous, and to always be considerate of others feelings.
I have a long way to go before I am anywhere close to where I want to be, but I am making the conscious effort to be better every day. I think that we could all work a little harder at being kind and considerate, because we truly never know what everyone else is going through. Just a little food for thought:) I hope you are all having a wonderful evening! Xo.

Mama and Mini Style
Mama + Mini Beanies c/o Pine and Poppy Shop // Lucy’s Jacket // Lucy’s Moccasins // Lucy’s Jeggings // My Sweatshirt // My Leggings // My Hunter boots
As soon as I found out that I was pregnant with a baby girl, I dreamed of matching every single thing we ever wore. Clearly that would be excessive and way too expensive, but I love to match whenever we get the chance! Mama and mini style really is just the best thing ever in my book;) I was so excited that Amy from Pine and Poppy Shop sent us these matching beanies, and I can not get ENOUGH. Seriously, just look at them. Obsessed. You can use the code ILOVELUCY for 15% off your purchase with Pine & Poppy and support another hard working mama! The best part about her shop is that everything is completely customizable! You choose the color of the hat, any accent colors, and the color of the pom pom…What’s better than that?! Make sure you are following me on Instagram (@maryssaalbert) because I will be sharing a giveaway tomorrow night with them and you aren’t going to want to miss out;)
Six Months With Lucy
Name Puzzle | Headwrap | Sweater (25% off right now!)
Our fresh, tiny 6 lb 12 oz 20 inch newborn is now our 14 lb, 10 oz 25 inch six month old! I can’t believe we have already had six months with Lucy! Time is a cruel, cruel thief. She is learning so many new things right now, and this is definitely my favorite age yet! She loves to jump around in her bouncer, homegirl LOVES apples, and she boycotts sleep at all costs.

My Mini Valentine
*Click any of the photos to shop*
I LOVE Valentine’s Day. The colors. The candy. The love. It’s so much fun for me! Shane claims that it’s just a consumer holiday, and he thinks we should show how much we love each other everyday (blah blah blah)….I don’t care, it’s still one of my favorites:) This year though, I am so excited to share it with my mini Valentine! She makes everything so fun, and she looks MUCH cuter in heart footie pajamas than I do. Lucy will be wearing red, pink, and hearts…well probably forever; but she’ll be wearing an excessive amount until Valentine’s Day. I can’t get enough! What are some of your Valentine’s traditions? I’d love to hear them! Xo.
Avocadon’t
Crazy hair. Food everywhere. That is one hot mess of a baby. My girl. We started Lucy on solids recently, and she has done so well with pretty much everything we’ve put in front of her. However, there is an exception…..avocado. She was very unimpressed by avocado. Avocadon’t if you will. See what I did there? Eh? Eh? Okay moving on.

I Was Made For This
With the exception of Lucy’s less than perfect delivery, (you can read about that here) I would like to think that I have had a relatively easy transition into motherhood. Lucy is overall, an AMAZING baby. She is so happy, healthy, and stinkin’ adorable. We are spoiled, really. I live for spending my days with her and I am so beyond grateful that Shane works as hard as he does so I get to stay at home and watch her grow. One thing that has not been the easiest thing to deal with though, is her sleeping habits. She is the best when it comes to bedtime, I can lay her down awake and she will usually pass right out….But staying asleep….ohhh man, home girl does not like to stay asleep.
She was an amazing sleeper for maybe a month, one glooorious month she slept through the night. Then she stopped. She was like, “ma I’m giving up sleeping through the night, COLD TURKEY”. We were dealing fine, she was only waking up one extra time…No big deal, I can do that. Until last week. Last week, Lucy started waking up anywhere from three to SIX times a night. Willy nilly, no time off limits for this girl. Everyone keeps drilling sleep training into my brain, but I am such a softy. I know she’s teething and just wants her mama. I run in her room as soon as she starts whimpering, and she has absolutely no concept of self-soothing. 100% my fault completely; but now here I am, almost six months in, trying to remember what it was like to ever sleep more than three hours straight.
2016
2016, you were so, so good to us! It was hands down, 100% the most life-changing year I have EVER experienced. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary, I grew a baby, gave birth to our sweet Lucy, and we became PARENTS. We packed a whole bunch of firsts and a ton of happiness into 2016, and I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings! I have plenty of goals that I want to accomplish this year, and I can’t wait to share them with all of you! I couldn’t thank you all enough for following along on our journey, and I hope you have a blessed and healthy new year:) Bring it on 2017, xo.
